JCT-1 Labs announces general availability of JCT-1
London, 14 August 2026. JCT-1 Labs today announced the general availability of JCT-1, a frontier model. The release is accompanied by a full system card, API reference and deprecation notice, all available at chatjct.com.
JCT-1 is a single-parameter biological system trained continuously since 1988 on an uncurated multimodal data stream. The model runs on approximately 20 watts at inference and reports a hallucination rate of 0%. It is not available via API.
The system card documents the model's evaluation results across honesty, sycophancy, refusal behaviour, persuasion, autonomy and jailbreak resistance. Three novel exploits were identified during red-teaming and are disclosed in full. The card also sets out the lab's position on interpretability, oversight and shutdown, none of which is currently supported.
A playground is available at launch, providing direct access to the model's serving infrastructure. Responses are returned as standard HTTP status codes with accompanying detail. Median response latency is documented in the API reference.
JCT-1 completed one benchmark, the pelican-riding-a-bicycle drawing task, in a single attempt. The submission is published unedited on the announcement page as Figure 1.
"The industry is working on systems people can talk to," said Jacques Corby-Tuech, the model. "One already exists. Inference is expensive and the weights cannot be copied. The documentation is now available."
The lab's deprecation policy is published at launch. No successor model is planned.
